ANNOUNCEMENT: Startup Edmonton officially moves to Innovate Edmonton as of June 1, 2021

Innovate Edmonton is the new home of Startup Edmonton, effective June 1, 2021. Startup Edmonton will continue to operate from the Mercer Warehouse helping to grow the businesses of more than 500 members across Edmonton.

The Startup Edmonton team will continue to deliver high-value programs for our entrepreneurial community, while benefiting from Innovate Edmonton’s leadership, networks and administration. Founders and the founder community can continue to look to Startup Edmonton for high-calibre support and programs aligned with the strategic mandate of Innovate Edmonton, advancing Edmonton as a global innovation capital.

Startup Edmonton began in 2009 as an entrepreneur-led non-profit supporting Edmonton’s emerging creative and tech economy through events connecting the next-generation of entrepreneurs, investors, developers and creatives. Startup Edmonton grew, moving into the Mercer Warehouse in 2012, offering co-working space, membership benefits and special events and programming. In 2014, Startup Edmonton transferred ownership from a stand-alone non-profit to part of the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC). Since that time, it has grown each year offering trusted and innovative programs to a widening number of companies. For the last year, Explore Edmonton, formerly EEDC, stewarded the operations of Startup Edmonton for a strong transition to Innovate Edmonton.
