2 | PREFLIGHT: BUILD, TEST & LEARN
After talking to potential customers, it’s time to start building. In this stage we’ll guide your through assembling and testing your first MVP (minimum viable product) so you can keep learning and validating the parts of your idea you mapped out in Stage 1.
3 | PREFLIGHT: MARKET, SELL & PITCH
You’ve tested your MVP and done thorough customer interviews—Nice work! Now that you know you’re building something customers love, it’s time to start crafting how you’re going to talk about your product or service. Get ready to dive into marketing, sales and the basics of investment and pitching.
4 | PROPEL
Your Alberta based business has your first happy customers, but you’re ready to get deliberate about building a strategy with a repeatable business model. Increase traction through sales systems and data-based metrics, uncover international opportunities and learn what you’ll need to be ready for investment.
Get ready for your network to grow and your company to take off as you meet 1-1 with numerous investors, mentors and experts from Edmonton and beyond that can give you the specific feedback you need.

BUSINESS MODEL 101
Students can take our most foundational workshop, Business Model 101 for free! We’ll use our favourite tool, the lean canvas, to map out nine key considerations for your product or project idea. By the end of the session, you’ll have clear next steps on how to move your idea forward.
ANZA – "NEW BEGINNINGS"
The ANZA Black Entrepreneur Ecosystem program is designed to help our youths to generate and develop business ideas, put these ideas into a business plan, provide mentorship and also help them seek out and apply for loans that they can kick off their businesses with, this for us is providing them with ANZA (New Beginning).
Hands-on learning and work-integrated training in science, engineering, and technology fields and in entrepreneurship for young black founders.
INNOVATION U: AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP SERIES
Edmonton Public Library and Innovate Edmonton have teamed up to offer a four-course innovation series to Edmontonians with big ideas! From problem solving to pitching, these courses are designed and delivered by the expert entrepreneurial educators at Innovate Edmonton. EPL's first-ever Innovator in Residence, Catherine Warren, will be available at the Stanley A. Milner Library where you can visit during her drop-in office hours and get one-on-one support with your big ideas.
